Safety during your Cancun vacation
Lots of stories in the major news media have made it sound like a trip to Mexico should only be taken while wearing a germ-resistant space suite and accompanied by several armed body guards. In fact, this is all the result of stories over-blown to make for good headlines during otherwise slow news periods. Respected U.S. journalist Linda Ellerbee (who herself lives in Mexico a good part of the year) acknowledged as much in a widely-distributed article earlier this year. The fact is that your Cancun vacation isn’t going to be any more dangerous than a trip to Disneyland, and in many ways will be even safer than visiting nearly any big American city.
