The Windlass Mechanism

We put on a lot of pressure and responsibility to our foot like making it walk on hard surfaces, being obese and lifting heavy weights- all adding to the stress on our feet. That is why sometimes it breaks down and causes us so many problems. Our creator designed the foot to take a lot but not too much such as what we are doing right now. There is a structure in the foot that is designed to support itself which is called the windlass mechanism of the foot and it works in a way that a ligament lifts up the arch when the big toe bends when we are walking.
