Dumb Phone Solicitors
I expect to get the rude solicitors at home. And, I guess I expect them at work, too, but for some reason I always think the work phone calls will end more politely. And because I’m in Ann Arbor advertising, I understand the business purposes of cold calls. But I draw the line at someone who calls back four times in a row in order to call me rude and demand to speak to my boss. What did she think that was going to earn her? Well that just made me want to lord my small amount of authority over her. So I did. The last exchange between us was like this. Her: I’m going to keep calling until I get your supervisor. Me: You can keep calling and you’ll keep getting me on the phone and you won’t get to my boss because she said not to let you through. Dumb.
