Church Furniture taking a Modern Turn

When you think of the furnishings in your local house of worship, you probably think of dark stained woods, ornate carving, and in general a “traditional” look like you’d find in almost any church 100, 200, or more years ago. But as times change, so do traditions, including those surrounding church furniture. Today’s church furnishings are just as likely to be made of polished aluminum, clear lucite, and relatively lively fabric patterns. Churches around the world are adapting to modern society’s trends towards modern high style, tradition be (‘darned’). Apparently we’ve come a long way from Jesus preaching to a small crowd standing or sitting on rocks.
